Marine Biologist / Dive Instructor Position in Maldives

Starting July 2022 – 1 year contract (Best Dives Maldives)

We are looking for someone who is approachable and organised to take over the role of the islands' Marine Biologist. As we are a small dive centre, we need someone who is flexible and happy to help with various tasks; predominantly dive guiding/teaching, but also guiding other excursions and being ready to assist with water sport activities if required. The SCUBA work here is very relaxed, and our ratios are always small. For example, you would only take a maximum of 2pax DSD at one time. And full courses are usually 1-2 pax. How you build your courses are up to you, as long as you stick to a reasonable time scale.

As the Marine Biologist you will be responsible for overseeing and expanding the coral reef restoration project, giving marine talks to guests, monitoring the reef, writing monthly reports and organising eco-events, such as reef clean ups. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about protecting the environment and hopes to encourage this mentality within our guests and staff.

Requirements:

• Due to resort requirements, you must possess a BSc minimum in an Environmental Sciences field.
• Active status OWSI
• Must speak fluent English. (Other languages are a plus, but not necessary)
• Must also have good written English for report writing.
