Located on the island of Mahé in the Seychelles, our Cap Ternay hub is set on the edge of the spectacular Baie Ternay Marine Park, and is backed by palm lined beaches on both sides. With incredible scenery both above and below the water, Cap Ternay is bustling with marine life of all kinds, with rays, turtles, and sharks all being frequent visitors to the various diving and snorkelling spots dotted throughout the park. About a 45 minute drive from Victoria and most of the major tourist hot spots, it's isolated location has made Cap Ternay a true diving gem. The Dive Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of our dive operations which include overseeing dive, compressor, boat and survey equipment maintenance as well as supervising the dive team and conducting in water PADI training.
Responsibilities
- Dive Training – manage the dive team to train international volunteers and local community members in variety of courses from Advanced Open Water up to Dive-master (on average 10-20 certs per month)
- Provision of Emergency First Responder training to various personnel
- Ensuring strict monitoring and scheduling of scuba equipment maintenance
- Assisting with the logistics and upkeep required to run a remote dive operation
- Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of dive equipment
- Perform and schedule regular boat and compressor maintenance
- Maintain a high standard of Health and Safety through on-going proactive review of safety standards and training
- Assisting in the day to day management of a large group of international volunteers
- Assisting the science team with in water training and holding workshops as required
Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor with active status
- Professional Dive Instructor Insurance
- EFR Instructor status
Desirable Criteria:
- Dive equipment maintenance qualification (Ideally, Scubapro & Aqualung)
- RYA level 2 boat licence or higher
- Knowledge of reef and coastal ecosystems
- PADI MSDT Instructor rating or higher

Experience
Essential:
- Fluent English
- Passion for marine conservation
- Dedication and proven experience managing safe diving standards
- Experience working with people from a range of backgrounds
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of compressor and outboard engine maintenance
- Basic IT skills
- Own dive equipment
